Drug Elimination Program
The Drug Elimination Program (DEP), established under the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988, aimed to assist public and Indian housing communities in tackling drug-related issues and crime. Despite federal defunding, the Peoria Housing Authority (PHA) continues to value its principles, particularly in educating the youth about the severe impacts of drug and alcohol misuse on health, family, and community life. The PHA believes in the potential of our youth as the future of our communities and considers even a single success in breaking the cycle of dependency a significant achievement.
