We’re excited to announce the winners of the 2024 AMERIND Safety Poster Contest! Each year, the AMERIND Safety Poster Contest encourages young artists to use their creativity to promote the importance of safety within our communities. This year’s contest brought in a wonderful variety of artwork from our talented youth, highlighting key safety themes like fire prevention, home safety, and emergency preparedness.
The entries were evaluated based on creativity, clarity of message, and overall impact. We are incredibly proud of all the participants for their hard work and dedication to spreading these important safety messages. The diversity and thoughtfulness behind each poster really showcased the care our youth have for the safety and well-being of our community.
Here are the local winners for the 2024 AMERIND Safety Poster Contest:
K – 3rd Grade:
- 1st Place: Haleigh Eby, 3rd grade
- 2nd Place: Zaydin McGehee, 3rd grade
- 3rd Place: Sydnee Smiley, 2nd grade
4th – 6th Grade:
- 1st Place: Veronica Fletcher, 6th grade
- 2nd Place: Brynlee Brock, 5th grade
We are thrilled to announce that both Haleigh Eby and Veronica Fletcher, our local first-place winners, went on to compete in the regional contest, which included participants from Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana. Both Haleigh and Veronica won at the regional level as well, and they have now progressed to the national competition, where their artwork will compete on a larger scale with entries from across Indian Country.
These winning designs will not only be celebrated locally but will also represent our community at the highest level of the AMERIND Safety Poster Contest. We couldn’t be more proud of Haleigh and Veronica for their outstanding achievements!
The AMERIND Safety Poster Contest is about more than just art—it’s about empowering young minds to think about the importance of safety in their daily lives. These posters remind all of us about the critical role safety plays in protecting our families and our community. From fire prevention tips to home safety best practices, the contest continues to educate and raise awareness.
